Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka believes Amakhosi has enough quality within their squad to end their three-year trophy drought.
The 29-year-old was named Man of the Match in his first appearance of the campaign following his impressive display during Chiefs’ 2-0 victory over Free State Stars at Goble Park on Tuesday evening.
Maluleka says his side proved their intent and hunger to claim all three points against Ea Lla Koto, despite coach Giovanni Solinas making seven changes to his side that beat Cape Town City over the weekend.
‘It’s been quite a while, about three months or so. I’ve been working my way back. The guys have been motivating me making sure that always I’m in good hands. I’m very proud of the boys and I’m grateful with the amount of effort they put in tonight,’ Maluleka told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘With the team that we have there’s a lot of quality and we have a lot to offer. It’s been a difficult three years, so we want to make sure that we make things right this season.
‘There’s a lot to offer, you can see the team was changed today – the other guys were given a rest because of the game on Saturday. But we came out to show that we’re one team and there’s one philosophy we followed it tonight.’
