Kaizer Chiefs defender Teenage Hadebe has warned his side not to take Polokwane City lightly ahead of their Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys will be high in confidence heading into this encounter after advancing to the Nedbank Cup quarter-final after claiming a 3-0 victory over The Magic FC in the round of 16 last weekend.
Amakhosi currently occupy seventh place on the league standings with 28 points from 20 games, while Polokwane sit eighth with the same points, having played one less game.
Speaking ahead of Amakhosi’s Absa Premiership encounter against Rise and Shine, Hadebe said: ‘They are close to us on the log table. That’s why it’s important to beat them.
The Zimbabwean defender had stressed the importance of converting their chances in the final third, while stating that Rise and Shine are a good team with fighting spirit.
‘We have been playing well,’ he added, ‘especially in the matches against Pirates and City. We just need to convert our chances and need a bit of luck as well.’
‘We will give it our all though, as we are definitely eyeing the three points.’
Kaizer Chiefs will travel to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium when they take on Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership on Saturday with kick off set for 3:30.
