Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau says his side won’t make the same mistake as last season when they relinquished the Absa Premiership title to Bidvest Wits.
The Brazilians currently occupy top spot in the Absa Premiership standings with 38 points from 30 games so fat this campaign.
Tau insists his sides will be smarter this season and will not be making the same mistake they did during the 2016-17 campaign.
“With the 10 games left, I think we are getting better. We don’t want to repeat mistakes. I am just happy that everyone is contributing and we are sharing the load because as a team it’s easy to share the load,” Tau told KickOff.com.
“We will only look at the league as ours when there’s two games to go. Right now we are focusing on every game we play because we know that last season did not end well. We had our problems and our difficulties, so we know what to do better this season.”
He added: “The squad we have is good, we have a lot of quality and we won’t repeat the same mistakes. At Sundowns we don’t repeat mistakes. We will be more smarter and we are more experienced to handle the situation.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will now turn their attention back to the Absa Premiership when they take on Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 20:15.
