Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed Yannick Zakri and Fares Hachi has been loaned out to Ajax Cape Town and Chippa United respectively.
The deal was confirmed by Mosimane during their press conference on Wednesday, where the club unveiled their new signings for the season.
Mosimane admits that Zakri and Hachi were loaned out to makes room for Jeremy Brockie and Gaston Sirino in order to fill their quota.
“We have reached an agreement to loan out our two foreigners, Zakri at Ajax and Hachi at Chippa. We have kept Bangaly [Soumahoro], Ricardo came on and we still have [Razak] Brimah. So that’s the foreign quota we have,” Mosimane told the media.
The Sundowns mentor also confirmed that the clubs completed a move for Siyabonga Zulu to provide cover for Tebogo Langerman at left back following the departure of Hachi.
“We needed cover. Zulu has played for Bafana Bafana. He did not have a good start [Zulu got a red card against Mauritania], but he has played for Bafana. He’s got potential, so he is in the right space. If he does well, then he can get a chance,’ he added.
“Fares did not struggle so much. Offensively he has an edge on Langa [Langerman], but defensively Langa comes out quicker with the speed because we play with the fullbacks that go out, so Langa ticked that box. Sometimes it takes time for a player to adjust. It took Leo a lot of time. It took Sibusiso Vilakazi a year to get there.
“Also you don’t want to have a lot of foreigners on the bench because you are killing local talent. When you bring a foreigner it must be something that we don’t have.”
