Bafana Bafana are sitting in second place in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers group after a dominant 3-1 win over Zimbabwe.
Stellenbosch FC’s Iqraam Rayners opened the scoring within the first 30 seconds of kickoff with a composed finish. This lead did not last long with Wolverampton Wanderers winger Tawanda Chirewa equalizing in the second minute.
Bafana consolidated and took control of the game. The second half was complete dominance. Thapelo Morena scored in the 55th minute to get South Africa back in front and secured a brace in the 76th.
Bafana Bafana’s seven points after four fixtures sees them in control of their World Cup qualification with their next fixture set to take place next year March against Lesotho.
