Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer will be missing for several weeks after being forced off against his former side RB Leipzig, the club said on Sunday.

Sabitzer was subbed off in the first half against RB Leipzig on Saturday, a game which Dortmund lost 2-0.

Dortmund tweeted on Sunday Sabitzer had “suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s loss to RB Leipzig and will undergo rehabilitation training over the next four weeks”.

The 30-year-old Austria captain will also miss the Nations League playoffs against Serbia in March.
