Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is set to leave the club after being told he has no future at the Red Devils.
Greenwood was sent on loan to La Liga club Getafe last season and has been told to find another club by the incoming Manchester United hierarchy.
According to The Times, Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal worth £27m with French giants Marseille, who have recently appointed former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach.
After his charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault two years ago, United decided the players future belonged elsewhere.
New minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe opened the door for a potential Mason Greenwood return last year but the criticism and backlash in response was so great that the club distanced itself from the idea.
🔵⚪️ Olympique Marseille official proposal for Mason Greenwood revealed on Monday is worth €30m plus big sell-on clause.
Future sale percentage considered crucial by Man Utd, it can be around 40/50% with final round of talks now ongoing.
