Al Ahly have revealed that Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau has returned to full training as he continues to mend his way back to full fitness.
The 27-year-old recently made the move to Ahly from Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion during the previous transfer window.
However, he has not yet made his long-waited debut for the Red Eagles after sustaining a chronic injury.
Ahly has since been boosted by the fact that Tau has returned to full training on Sunday and could make his return to full fitness once the Fifa international break has concluded.
The Red Eagles released the following statement on the matter, which reads:
“Percy Tau, Al Ahly’s attacking midfielder, participated in part of the team’s full training sessions, as part of his recovery program.”
“Ahmed Abu Abla, head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, explained that Tau will gradually participate in today’s session after recovering from his injury.
“The Red Eagles returned back to training on Sunday after having a 3-day rest to prepare for our upcoming encounter against Niger’s AS Garde Nationale in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32.”
