Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has given a shocking update on his future amidst negotiations on a contract extension.
Speaking on Sunday afternoon after scoring twice to secure a massive three points away to Southampton, Mo Salah gave a rare update on his contract situation at the club.
“Well, we are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” he said.
“I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League. I’m disappointed but we will see.”’
This news comes at a poor time, with the Reds set for one of their biggest weeks of the season as they host both Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Asked if he wanted to stay at Anfield beyond the current season, Salah added: “I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. I love the fans. The fans love me. It is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. I’m just doing my best because this is who I am and I try to give it all for myself and the club.”
Salah has been immense upfront, seeing the best returns of his career, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in just 18 appearances.
The Egyptian king is averaging a goal contribution every 65 minutes, with his output set to surpass his record breaking 2017/18 campaign of 44 goals and 14 assists.
