After an opening day defeat to Cape Town City, Matsatsantsa a Pitori bounced back with victories over Amazulu and Bidvest Wits either side of the victory over Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-final.
Chiefs, on the other hand, are yet to pick up a league victory this season. They opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns and followed that up with a 3-1 loss against Wits. Chiefs then demolished Free State Stars 3-0 in their MTN8 quarter-final but that proved to be a false start as they went on to draw their next two league games.
With the Glamour Boys already under pressure, Tembo spoke at the pre-match press conference and revealed that his side will be looking to turn the crowd against the Soweto giants.

‘They haven’t been getting results coming into this game, so a lot of people are writing them off. I think that is very dangerous.
‘They have a huge following, that also drives them and motivates them.
‘At the same time, I think it can also give us an advantage, that if we can try and frustrate them a little bit when the crowd starts getting behind them.
‘We will try and turn the crowd against them because they are a little bit vulnerable.
‘So we need to try and take advantage of that,’ concluded Tembo.
