The Spanish wonderkind at age 16 years became the youngest scorer in European Championship history when he net a sublime long-range equaliser to cancel out Kolo Muani’s eighth-minute opener for France.
Yamal was given enough time to strikeย from 30 yards out, and France keeper Mike Maignan had no chance of stopping the Spanish teenager’s curling shot. Yamal’s equaliser changed the game’s momentum as Spain completed their comeback four minutes later when Dani Olmo’s deflected shot put them 2-1 ahead.
