Following Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Spurs on Sunday evening, Jamie Carragher proposed that Erling Haaland may have chosen the wrong Premier League club.
Haaland played the full 90 minutes, yet registered no shots and had no touches in the opposition box. The number 9’s ineffective outing has led to a widespread debate on whether or not he is actually best fit for Pep Guardiola’s style.
The debate does not surround Haaland’s capabilities, which are undeniable. He has scored 25 goals in his debut Premier League season, yet many feel he has done so in spite of a system that does not serve him. The argument for some is, does he serve their system?
So, were Man City a better team without Erling Haaland? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/Ls2xjBTbQd

Shocking pass map from yesterday's game. The one line connecting to Haaland is Ederson. 😆
Noticeable lack of service, that said I'll still be captaining him in 23. pic.twitter.com/kKRndpRIXt— FPL Focal (@FPLFocal) February 6, 2023
Would Man City be doing better this season if they hadn't bought Haaland and had kept Jesus? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/stmXPIhT5q
