SuperSport United have officially confirmed the signings of Grant Margeman and Thabang Sibanyoni on a loan deal from Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
Margeman joins Matsatsantsa on a two-year loan, while Sibanyoni will be at the club for the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign on a one-year loan deal.
In the 2021-22 season, Margeman was loaned out to fellow DStv Premiership outfit Swallows FC to get some much-needed game time and managed to feature 28 times while scoring one goal and registering two assists last season.
Margeman said on joining Matsatsantsa: “It’s a great privilege to join a team like SuperSport United and I feel honoured to be part of this club. I feel that it’s a step in the right direction in my career right now and I want to do my best.
“Last season I felt that I had a decent season with Swallows FC, but I am going to work on improving on the stats side, which includes scoring goals and getting more assists and helping the club to win games.”
Meanwhile, Sibanyoni spent last season on loan at University of Pretoria where he helped them reach a second-place finish in the GladAfrica Championship, narrowly losing out to Swallows FC in the playoffs.
He also played a major role in helping Bafana Bafana clinch the Cosafa Cup trophy in Gqeberha in 2021, racking up just under 10 international caps for South Africa.
Sibanyoni said about SuperSport: “I am happy to join this great club. I have always wanted to prove that I can score goals in the Premier Soccer League, that’s why I am so excited to join SuperSport United.
“My ambitions are to score more goals and hopefully be on the top-10 goalscoring list this season.”
SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews said: “Grant is an exciting young talent that we look forward to working with this season and hopefully in the future. Thabang is a classic No 9 that Gavin likes and feels will fit into our style very nicely. We welcome them both to the club.”
