The FNB stadium has been confirmed as the venue for Bafana Bafana’s final two home African Cup of Nations qualifiers, against the Seychelles and Nigeria.
The South African national team sit second, behind Libya on goal difference, in Group E after beating Nigeria 2-0 and a 0-0 draw at the Moses Mabhida against Libya saw them accumulate four points.

South Africa now get ready to host the Islanders and the Super Eagles in Johannesburg in must-win encounters if Stuart Baxter’s team have any chance of qualifying for the tournament to be held in Cameroon next year.
The decision would undoubtedly please Baxter who was vocal about his displeasure at the decision to play Libya in Durban as it forfeited their altitude advantage.

Stadium Management SA confirmed the decision in a statement which read, ‘Stadium Management SA (SMSA) is ready to welcome Bafana Bafana to FNB Stadium for two of the upcoming AFCON 2019 qualifying matches.
‘SMSA has acquired the commercial rights of both matches and will be promoting the events as rights owner and partner to SAFA. Bafana Bafana will face Seychelles on 13 October 2018 and Nigeria on 17 November 2018. Both matches are now confirmed to take place at the iconic FNB Stadium with kick-off at 3pm.’
