Bafana Bafana will face hosts Egypt in the last-16 at the African Cup of Nations after results went their way in the final group stage fixtures.
The teams in Group E and F concluded their final matches of the round and Stuart Baxter’s team was fortunate that the results went their way as Mali beat Angola 1-0. A lucky escape for the South Africans as Angola only needed a draw to go ahead of Bafana among the best third-placed teams.

Baxter’s chargers have though scraped through as the fourth team among the best third-placed countries, with the others being Benin, Congo DR and Guinea ahead of them, and will now face a mammoth task against the hosts.
The seven time Afcon champions won all their Group A games without conceding a goal and will have home ground advantage on their side.
