An early goal from Themba Zwane fired Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-0 win over Al Hilal in their Caf Champions League group stage clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Friday night.

Zwane fired his side into the lead in the eighth minute after he latched onto a poor back pass before calmly firing his shot past the outrushing keeper into the bottom corner.

The Brazilians looked to add a second through Thapelo Morena and Lyle Lakay but as the game went on they pushed further and further back.

They, however, managed to hold on for the victory despite a couple of late scares from set-pieces.
