Mamelodi Sundowns: Group A
Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 Al-Hilal Club
Mamelodi Sundowns opened their group stage account with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Al Hilal Omdurman in their Caf Champions League Group A match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng 11 February through Themba Zwane’s eighth-minute winner.
Al-Merrikh SC 0-0 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns were unable to continue their winning run in their second Caf Champions League group stages game after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Al Merrikh at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on 19 February.
Al Ahly 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns managed to return to winning ways in Group A of the Caf Champions League after they broke their duct against Al Ahly by securing a 1-0 win at the Cairo International Stadium on 26 February courtesy of a goal from Thapelo Morena.
Group A Standings:
The Brazilians will head into their encounter against Al Ahly sitting at the top of the Group A standings with seven points from three matches, having won two and drew one match.
AmaZulu: Group B
Raja Casablanca 1-0 AmaZulu
AmaZulu’s debut in the Caf Champions League group stages got off to a rocky start after they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Moroccan side Raja Casablanca at the Stade Mohamed V Stadium when Mohsine Moutaouli’s 67th minute goal proved to be the difference on 12 February.
AmaZulu 1-0 Horoya AC
AmaZulu came back with a bang after they secured their first ever win in the group stages of the Caf Champions League after Luvuyo Memela scored the winning goal to hand Usuthu a narrow 1-0 victory over Horoya AC at the Moses Mabhida Stadiun on 18 February.
AmaZulu 1-0 ES Sétif
AmaZulu then managed to secure back to back wins in the Caf Champions League group stages after another Luvuyo Memela proved the difference as Usuthu claimed a 1-0 win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 25 February.
Group B Standings:
AmaZulu will now head into their next Group B encounter against ES Sétif sitting in second place in the group with six points from three games, three points behind leaders Raja Casablanca, having conceded one defeat and claiming two wins in succession.
