Orlando Pirates have launched a limited edition white adidas jersey which will become their third kit for the campaign as they get set to make their return to the Total Caf Champions League.
The new kit, as with the other kits launched for this season, has been influenced by iconic shirts from the club’s rich past, with the new kit featuring a classic white-on-white colour scheme that also features a black and white Orlando Pirates logo.
Pirates return to the competition for the first time since 2013, when they went on that famous run to the final before falling at the final hurdle.

Speaking about the new kit Tokoloho Moeketsi, Orlando Pirates band activation manager, said ‘This is a special year for us: we’re celebrating 80 years of existence, and we’re back in the Caf Champions League for the first time in five years. To celebrate a competition which we hold so dear, we have brought back a jersey which resembles the one that set the tone for one of the greatest eras in the club’s history.’
Bob Maphosa, sports marketing manager for adidas SA added that ‘Orlando Pirates’ third kit is a modern take on some of the club’s legendary jerseys. It’s a great look for a club that has such a rich history, yet constantly reinventing itself to maintain the highest standards of performance.’
Fans of the Buccaneers will be able to don the kit from the 6th of December once it has been launched to the public.
