Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has admitted that he is concerned by his teams home form ahead of the important Caf Champions League encounter against FC Platinum.
The Buccaneers enter the must win clash against the Zimbabwean side with a run of five draws in their last eight home matches across all competitions.
Pirates will host FC Platinum on Friday night knowing that they would need three points in order to keep their hopes of qualifying out of Group B alive.
Sredojevic’s men currently sit third in the group five points two points off second place Horoya and three off Esperance, who play each other on Friday, and the Pirates coach admitted that he is disappointed with his sides results at home.
‘We are very disappointed and frustrated with the results! From the 10 draws that we got in the league, many of them happened here at Orlando,’ Sredojevic told IOL.
‘We were supposed to win, but that didn’t happen. Also, the champions of Africa (Esperance) were almost on their knees here, and we were supposed to win (but we didn’t),’ he continued referencing his sides 0-0 draw against Esperance in February.
‘We are disappointed with the results but extremely happy with the dedication of the players
‘We do not want to bring ourselves to a mental blockage, (saying) we need to win the seven remaining games (in the league).
‘On our bridge, we are talking about FC Platinum and Horoya Athletic Club, and it will be very nice to bring a South African team to the quarter-finals of the Champions League,’ he concluded.
