Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas firmly believes that his side stand a good chance of going all the way in the Caf Confederation Cup.
The Glamour Boys arrived in Port Elizabeth to begin their preparation for their upcoming Caf Confederation Cup clash against Zimamoto of Zanzibar.
Amakhosi will be hoping for a positive start to their Caf campaign after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates in their previous encounter, which saw them get eliminated from the Telkom Knockout.
Solinas feels his side are ready for the Zanzibar outfit after watching his side carefully during their pre-match training session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
‘We want to go all the way in the tournament and win it,’ Solinas told his club’s official website. ‘You can see for yourself – watch the guys train, they really look energetic.’
‘If you watched carefully, you saw an element of rebounding after this weekend’s loss.’
The Amakhosi mentor admits that they did enough homework on the visiting side to plot a strategy to beat their opponents in the first leg of the preliminary stage.
‘We have a strong squad to compete in any competition. ‘There’s a good vibe and energy in the team. Any coach would like to have this kind of response after a loss.
‘We want to take an advantage to the second leg. We found a clip to watch their game. We didn’t find much info about them, but that what we found is enough to plot a strategy to beat them.’
Kaizer Chiefs against Zimamoto kicks off at 7:30om.
