Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas was pleased with the teams overall performance, while praising Khama Billiat’s contributions.
The Glamour Boys returned to winning ways after securing a comfortable 4-0 victory over Zanzibarian side Zimamoto in the Caf Confederation Cup on Wednesday evening.
Khama Billiat bagged a hat-trick while Kabelo Mahlasela also got his name on the scoresheet at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as they now take a commanding lead into the second leg.
‘We dominated the game completely; we did not concede a goal, but we also did not concede chances [for the opponents to score],’ Solinas said after the match.
‘Yes, I am happy for the number of chances we created and maybe we could have scored more goals, but it’s okay.
‘What’s important is that we did not concede, and the players today played good football. This is very important because we’re going to the next game against Golden Arrows with a good mood.’
Along with the team-morale booster, the Italian tactician also welcomed the flurry of goals from dangerman Billiat, who has endured a difficult period of scoring just one goal in his last nine domestic games for the club prior to last night’s match.
Solinas, who was impressive by Billiat’s dominance throughout the match, says he was equally impressed by the teams confidence in front of goal.
‘It’s very important [for the team to score many goals]. It’s also important, for example, that Billiat scored, because goals help strikers with their confidence,’ he added.
‘But today all the players performed very well, and all the players played a very good game tactically and technically.’
