Spanish top-flight club Alaves on Monday appointed Argentine Eduardo Coudet as their new coach hours after the dismissal of Luis Garcia Plaza.
The 50-year-old Coudet has previous La Liga experience with Celta Vigo and will take charge of Alaves until the end of the season, with the option for another year.
Garcia Plaza led Alaves back into the top tier in 2023 and the team finished 10th last season.
However, a run of one win in nine games this term had left Alaves just a point clear of the relegation zone.
