We bringing the MTN8 back to CPT – Patosi

Cape Town City winger Ayanda Patosi is confident that his side can beat SuperSport United and bring the MTN8 trophy back to Cape Town, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The 25-year-old starred as the Citizens fought back from two goals down with a great second-half performance to take a point off Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night, with Patosi netting a seven-minute brace.

Having already scored two goals in seven games, Patosi promises goals in the final, but admits that his side will have to work hard against the defending champions if they want to walk away victorious at the end of the match.

‘Hopefully, I’ll score in Durban. It’s a must-win game and it’s very important for the City [of Cape Town], and also the club,’ Patosi said at Cape Town City’s training session.

‘Last season we lost it, but this time we cannot lose R16-million to SuperSport [United].

‘Our aim for the final is to go there and work hard. If they score first, we will work hard as a team and the goals will come. Anything can happen.

‘We going to work hard in Durban and maybe we will win the cup, but we are going to bring the cup back to Cape Town.’

Cape Town City will take on SuperSport United in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday with kick off set for 7pm.
