Goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Wayne Arendse ensured that the Brazilians became the first side to advance to the MTN8 semi-final following their 2-0 victory at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game could have been killed off, but Hlompho Kekana proved wasteful in the heart of the Sundowns midfield as he struggled to deal with the pace of the game and gave the ball away cheaply on numerous occasions.

Speaking on his side’s first goal, Mosimane was impressed with the goal, but admits that his side can improve their their ability in the final third.
‘The players are smart and they are good with interplay. I can’t teach that. They are smart and the first goal scored by Villa [Sibusiso Vilakazi] was a beautiful goal, it was well-taken and well-finished. But the team misses a lot, but they just don’t kill the game. The final pass in the final third is not good enough,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.
