SuperSport United defender Morgan Gould says he was satisfied with his sides showing following their 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 on Saturday.
Matsatsantsa advanced to the semi-final of the competition after edging the Glamour Boys through a goal by Jeremy Brockie at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban
Gould, who impressed during the quarter-final clash, was named Man of the Match following his exploits against Chiefs.
The 34-year-old says he was pleased with his sides ability to stick to the game-plan and overcome the quality of Amakhosi.
“It was great playing football again. It a good team effort, we knew that they were going to come at us, they have very skillful and pacey players but we stuck to the game plan and it worked for us as team,” Gould said after the match.
After winning the Player of the Season award with the club, Gould remained humble and has credited it as a team effort.
“No it was a fluke, I think it was just hard work around the team, the energy around the team is very good and it just rubbed off on me and fortunately I was lucky enough to be voted player of the season and this is also dedicated to the team.”
“I don’t like individual awards, accolades for me are not the biggest thing but if the team performs well I’m the happiest man,” he concluded.
SuperSport United will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
