After the final round of fixtures on Saturday the top 8 of the Absa Premiership has been confirmed along with who will fight it out in the 2018/19 MTN 8.

Mamelodi Sundowns were confirmed as Champions last weekend along with the runners up Orlando Pirates but the remaining 6 spots were still up for grabs heading into the final round of fixtures.

Kaizer Chiefs beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 to seal third spot and a spot in next seasons Caf Confederations Cup.

Maritzburg United played out to 1-1 stalemate with Lamontville Golden Arrows. The result saw Fadlu David’s team finish fourth after a record season and their fellow KZN side finish seventh.

AmaZulu defeated Cape Town City in their Absa Premiership tie at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi to finish 8th on the log, while the result saw the Citizens finish 5th.

The final side to make up the top 8 is Free State Stars who secured 6th despite a 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates.

All the teams will be competing for R8 million at the start of 2018/19 season in the MTN 8.
