Stuart Baxter strongly believes that SuperSport United can improve in all areas, despite beating Orlando Pirates 4-1 in the final of the Nedbank Cup.
Matsatsantsa, who are still in contention in the Caf Confederations Cup, finished off their impressive season by clinching their fifth Nedbank Cup trophy.
The 63-year-old coach believes that Matsatsantsa can improve in all elements of their performance if they are to succeed under new coach Eric Tinkler next season.
“In every area that we have worked on‚ they can improve‚” Baxter told the media.
“You never stand still in life. You either improve or get worse. If they stand still‚ everybody will be chasing them‚ they will get closer and pass them. You’ve got to keep moving forward. I think that turning a good season into a great season‚ you have to win things.
“They did that. We were on a great run (in the league)‚ playing well and then suddenly we hit a wall with a lot of injuries. I know that it sounds like excuses‚ but playing on the continent and domestically took a toll on us.”
SuperSport will now turn their attention to the Caf Confederations Cup encounter against Horoya when the two sides meet at the Stade 28 Septembre on 1 July 2017.
Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
