Orlando Pirates defender Abbubaker Mobara says they are eyeing the Nedbank Cup trophy as redemption for their disappointing Absa Premiership campaign.
The Soweto giants endured their worst-ever finish in the PSL, finishing in 11th spot – a massive 27 points behind champions Bidvest Wits.
Mobara, who scored the decisive goal in the semi-final victory against Golden Arrows, said that spirits are high in the camp ahead of Saturday’s final against SuperSport United.
“The spirit is positive and the attitude at training is good; we are all hungry to do well,” he said in a press conference.
“We didn’t have a good season and we see this cup as an opportunity to redeem ourselves.
“We are not afraid, we are ready. And we believe in ourselves to do well,” he concluded.
The Bafana Bafana international and his Pirates teammates will look to avenge the 3-2 Nedbank Cup final defeat suffered at the hands of Matsatsantsa in last year’s edition of the final.
