Goals by Dele Alli and Harry Kane saw Tottenham Hotspur cruise to a 2-0 victory against Watford at Wembley Stadium on Monday night.
The home side were the dominant side in the opening exchanges and were duly rewarded after fifteen minutes when Christian Eriksen capitalised on a mistake from Orestis Karnezis to setup Alli for the opener.
Watford came close to levelling matters in the 26th minute, but goalkeeper Hugo Lloris pulled off a fine save to deny Andre Gray.
The Hornets looked poised to net before the break with Richarlison and Gray causing the Sours defence all sorts of troubles.
The home side doubled their advantage when Harry Kane turned in Son Heung Min’s low ball into the area.
Spurs saw out the remainder of the clash with relative ease as they moved five points clear in fourth place over rivals Chelsea in the Premier League standings.
