Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has admitted Trent Alexander-Arnold would be perfect and may flourish at Real Madrid as Trent’s links to Madrid keep mounting.
Due to the attacking play Real Madrid commit to under coach Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez has said Trent Alexander-Arnold would be a perfect fit under Madrid and Ancelotti’s system.
Trent is amongst three key Liverpool players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool career may have reached its end, as the 26-year old has been with the Reds since age six, making a total 343 appearances while also winning everything there is to win with Liverpool, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Benitez, speaking to Sky Sports said, “For an attacking defender in an attacking team you have more chances to make assists and to create situations in attack, and that will be good for him as a player. He’s doing that in Liverpool so it’s not a surprise, but with Real Madrid you can guarantee he will do that for years.”
Real Madrid are currently in need of a right full-back after losing Dani Carvajal for the season, and are forced to play Lucas Vasquez and Federico Valverde out of position.
