Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell set to join Palace on loan

Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell is reportedly making a move away from Stamford Bridge to join London side Crystal Palace on loan as he’s struggled for game time under coach Maresca.

According to Times, English defender Ben Chilwell is set to have his medicals done today for a loan move to Crystal Palace before the transfer window shuts close today.

Chilwell, hasn’t seen much game time under Enzo Maresca as the full back made only one appearance for the Blues this season in the Carabao Cup. Maresca admitted to Chilwell not being a stylistic fit for his system and thus axed him from making much appearances this season.

His move to the capital enables Chilwell to bridge the gap Palace has had in defence this season following Trevoh Chalobah’s call back to Chelsea and the end of his loan spell at Palace.

Crystal Palace also suffered a loss in defence as Chiad Riad suffered a long-term injury.
