Gameweek 5 of the Premier League saw four teams come from behind to secure three points, while Brighton destroyed Manchester United at Old Trafford.

We used buildlineup.com to put our team onto paper, but our selections are explained below.
Goalkeeper
Jason Steele – Brighton
Brighton humbled Manchester United at Old Trafford and Jason Steele was one of the architects of the Seagulls’ success. Steele’s composure in playing out from the back is a joy to watch, on current form his ability is crucial to Roberto De Zerbi’s style of play.

Defenders
Andy Robertson – Liverpool
Liverpool had their worst first-half performance of the season against Wolves. The Reds should have been out of the game before half time, but Robertson delivered a true captain’s performance in the second 45. His goal to put Liverpool in front was world class for a defender and his overall shift was superb.

Tim Ream – Fulham
US international Tim Ream continues to shine at the back for Fulham. Just two weeks shy of his 36th birthday, he looks to be in the prime of his career. Another solid performance topped off with a clean-sheet sealed off a comfortable weekend for the Cottagers.

Jarrell Quansah – Liverpool
Virgil Van Dijk’s suspension in combination with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury opened the door for Jarell Quansah’s full Premier League debut. Quansah was sensational at the back for Liverpool and was arguably their best player until his injury in the 80th minute. His comfort in possession and maturity in his defending has cemented his position as a genuine defensive option for Jurgen Klopp.

Lewis Dunk – Brighton
Brighton’s fearless leader has elevated his game every season he played in the Premier League. Dunk is officially one of the best ball-playing centre backs in the League. His attributes with the ball in combination with his die-hard defensive attitude makes him as important to De Zerbi as their lethal attackers.

Midfielders
Bernardo Silva – Manchester City
The Portuguese midfielder is one of the best in the world.  Bernardo Silva is such a high quality player, his work-rate off-the-ball is so important to City.  Silva got a well-earned goal to put City in the lead against West Ham.

Douglas Luiz – Aston Villa
Douglas Luiz is developing into a formidable enforcer under Unai Emery. Luiz has always been a solid performer, but he is elevating to the next level by adding goal involvements to his game. His 98th-minute goal put Villa in the lead to complete the comeback against Crystal Palace.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – Nottingham Forest
After stagnating at Chelsea, Callum Hudson-Odoi finally made the permanent move he was craving and it looks to be a perfect fit. His equalizer against Burnley was a sensational finish and his overall performance was very promising. If he can maintain fitness and get a run of games, we could see the return of the Hudson-Odoi we all know is there.

Forwards
Jeremy Doku – Manchester City
The Belgian winger has not been in the Premier League long but has already shown his quality.  His finish to equalize against West Ham was a perfect showcase of his lethal dribbling and offensive threat. Pep may have let Mahrez go, but Doku looks to be the perfect replacement.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool
The Egyptian King came in clutch for the Reds once again. Salah had a quiet first half where he seemed to be isolated out wide. The second half was a completely different story. Two assists and a third ruled out due to an own goal, has him sitting at six goal contributions in just five games.

Danny Welbeck – Brighton
Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck turned back the years by scoring at Old Trafford. Welbeck put Brighton ahead, calmly finishing an Adam Lallana dummy past Andre Onana. He really is showing that he is still that guy.
