Tottenham hammered Southampton 5-0 on Sunday which was a reminder of among their worst defeat in the Premier League looking back at their 9-0 loss to Leicester City in 2019.
Spurs scored all five goals before the end of the first-half, and to his disappointment, Martin was seen running to the dressing room before the whistle for half-time.
The result left Southampton bottom of the Premier League with nine points away from safety of relegation.
Southampton have appointed under-21 manager Simon Rusk to take over as interim manager from the Saints EFL Cup quarter-finals against Liverpool on Wednesday.
In his response to the fans dissatisfaction, Martin said, “The fans have been amazing for us since we’ve been here from day one. I understand the frustration, as I also understand the modern world of football and what it is and what it is about.”
