Erik Ten Hag has broken his silence following Cristiano Ronaldo’s criticism of the club and the Man United boss by suggesting that Ronaldo is the one who claimed Manchester United aren’t good enough to compete for titles.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Cristiano Ronaldo claimed Manchester United need to rebuild if they want to compete for big titles. “As I told you, Manchester they need to rebuild everything, in my opinion. The coach they say they cannot compete to win the League and Champions League,” Ronaldo said.
Erik Ten Hag has spoken out on Ronaldo’s claims in his press conference of Manchester United’s visit to face Southampton on Saturday. “He [Ronaldo] said that Manchester United can’t win the Premier League. He’s far away in Saudi, far from Manchester,” Ten Hag said.
When asked on what Manchester United’s ambitions are later on in the press conference, the United boss replied, “We will see where we are in May.”
