As fun as gambling can be not only for fans but footballers too, it often becomes addictive and leads to career and life-changing consequences.
Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali is the latest footballer to have nearly ruined their career as a result of betting. The English Football Association (FA) accused the midfielder with betting offences earlier this year.
Tonali allegedly violated FA Rule E80 50 times by betting on football matches between August 12 and October 23, 2023. The Italian Football Federation banned Tonali and served a 10 month ban prior to his move from Serie A to the Premier League.
Watch Sandro Tonali describe how it felt serving a 10-month football ban.
