Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed why he replaced George Lebese against Chippa United, despite the former Kaizer Chiefs man coming on as a substitute.
Masandawana were condemned to their third straight loss in all competitions as Samuel Julies’ goal proved the difference between the two teams at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor revealed that he apologised to “Geeza” about withdrawing him after he replaced forward Thokozani Sekotlong.
“I told him he has to understand because we were desperate. I apologised and explained to him why I was doing this,” he said in post-match comments.
“It must never kill his career. It’s very sad to come on a sub and go out as a sub.
“It’s the right thing to do to apologise because he’s a human being. I take the blame and need to apologise,” he concluded.
Sundowns’ next assignment sees them face Orlando Pirates on Wednesday at the Orlando Stadium.
