Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso believes his side are ready to battle Bidvest Wits in their Telkom Knockout semi-final encounter on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys will travel to the Bidvest Stadium when they lock horns with the Clever Boys in the bid to book their place in the final of the competition.
“We want to go through to the final,” Cardoso told his clubs official website. “It will be a tough game, but we are ready for the battle.”
The 29-year-old has recently been in fine form for Chiefs, having not conceded in his last four games playing alongside Erick Mathoho and Siyabonga Ngezana in defence.
“It’s great to be playing on a regular basis,” he explains, “after having struggled a bit with injuries and suspensions. The coach trusts me and that helps. I am nearing the form that I reached, while playing for Free State Stars. With playing comes confidence.”
The Amakhosi defender says he prefers not to talk too much about his sides chances of reaching the Telkom Knockout final.
“We have been talking a lot amongst ourselves about it. It provides us with an opening to win a trophy and that’s something we need – for the club, for the players and for our supporters.”
“The Wits match won’t be easy. However, we are one game away from the final and we need to grab that opportunity with both hands,” Cardoso concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs against Bidvest Wits kicks off at 15:30.
