Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela admits the ”stakes are high” as they prepare to take on Bidvest Wits in their Telkom Knockout semi-final clash on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys will travel to the Bidvest Stadium as they continue in their bid to book their place in the final of the competition in the hopes of claiming their first piece of silverware this season.
“This is one of those games that you enter knowing that the stakes are high,” Komphela said ahead of their semi-final encounter. “It is a once-off and our planning is limited to ensuring that we progress to the next stage.”
Amakhosi have done well recently, claiming a win and two draws in the Absa Premiership matches, coupled with two wins in the Telkom Knockout competition.
The 49-year-old admits, “We enjoyed good momentum before the Fifa break and we need to continue where we left off.”
“Wits are very clever,” he added, ”It will be tough, even more so because we are playing in their backyard. It is going to be a hard-fought match with everything to play for.”
Kaizer Chiefs against Bidvest Wits kicks off at 15:30.
